Welcome!
My name is Morgan Chamberlain. I'm a freelance digital media consultant and social media manager for a variety of different clients, primarily in the wedding and event-planning industry.
I have a degree in magazine journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. There, I studied the art of storytelling through a variety of mediums. Whether catching someone's attention in a 140-character Tweet or throughout a 500-word blog, each channel can be utilized to help drive traffic to your website and bring your company more business.
Experience
During my time at Syracuse University, I was the editor-in-chief of an on-campus, student-run magazine called What the Health for two semesters. We published articles that focused on health and wellness issues prevalent on college campuses, then promoted them via social media. When I took over, I made improving the brand's website and social media channels my top priority and witnessed increased traffic to WTH's website.
During my internship at Martha Stewart Weddings, I worked with 20 real couples to recreate their special days in the form of online galleries. This job gave me the ability to really hone-in on my writing and editing skills and pushed me to thoroughly understand the industry's terminology. It was during this time that I absolutely fell in love with weddings and every little detail of the planning process.
During my senior year of college, I discovered that I could turn social media marketing (something I have always had a passion for) into a full-time job. My hometown's school district asked me to help them create a digital magazine called One School Street. Today, I continue to run their website and social media channels.
